How to Download a Video from X or Twitter
Use a public X or Twitter post link to find a supported video, GIF, or image and save it to your device.
Before you start
Use a link to a public X or Twitter post that contains a supported video, GIF, or image. GIFs download as MP4 files. This tool does not access protected posts.
Download the media
1. Open the public post on X or Twitter and copy its post link. A direct x.com or twitter.com status link is supported.
2. Open the XTwitter Downloader home page, paste the post link, and choose ‘Process X post.’
3. Select a video quality, GIF (MP4), or available image file.
4. Choose the download button. Your browser saves the file using its usual download behavior.
Choose a download
Available video resolutions depend on the variants returned for that post. GIFs are provided as MP4 files, while images keep their available image format.
Check X's own download option
X says Premium subscribers can download videos from certain posts when the post owner allows it. If the post menu offers Download video, that is X's native option. XTwitter Downloader is an independent service and does not bypass protected posts or the creator's access controls.
If the post is unavailable
Confirm that the post is public and still available, and that the URL points to a single post with supported media. See the troubleshooting guide if the link is rejected or the service returns a temporary error.
